Open Question: 9-11 got an instant response...hurricane Katrina 3 days!!! Discrimination???

Just wanted some other people thoughts on this. I have been looking into all the info that the US officials had prior to Katrina and nothing was done. People were not even warned. Soldiers were told to shoot anyone caught stealing!!!! Way to dehumanize this unfortunate situation. Call me racist i dont care...but had new orleans been filled with white middle-high class people things would have been different. How different??? I probably dont even want the answer to this.

Feel free to enlighten and address any ignorance I may posses regarding this...

Open Question: Is it wrong of me to ask what you think about sending the aid/money that is being turned away in Myanmar...?

I was just thinking that we could spend the money and aid here in the U.S. to help the people here that are still trying to recover from losses. For example:
Since most of the houses in New Orleans’ Ninth Ward still stand uninhabitable.

Open Question: I wonder what preacher Hagee says is the reason for so many tornadoes hitting the Bible belt this year???

IF you don't know he's the idiot that said God sent hurricane Katrina to destroy New Orleans for its sinful nature. John McCain actively pursued his endorsement.
Has he given his uninsightful explanation yet for these tornadoes in Alabama, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas, etc..???

Resolved Question: Why are some Democrats saying Obama is "too much Islamic" ?

ORLEANS, IND. -- When Baron P. Hill, the local congressman, endorsed Barack Obama last week, his surprise announcement was greeted with a roof-raising cheer

But Donald Bobbitt was puzzled by Hill's decision. The 70-year-old retiree likes Hill and helped elect the Democrat to one of the most competitive congressional seats in the country. Obama, however, is "too much Islamic," Bobbitt said..."We don't need that in this country."

Open Question: Name a few teams that will be moving from their city soon?

I wouldn't be surprised some of the Detroit teams do, that city is going nowhere fast. The Red Wings have problems. The middle, upper-middle class crowd that loves them are moving out! That's a bad sign!

New Orleans

Oklahoma City. I know, they're not even there yet, but I don't think they'll do well.

Open Question: The storm surge in myanmar was far inland..if I overlaid the same distance with New Orleans how far up the MS?

I was trying to study the map to see what the results would be if the storm surge that hit myanmar would hit the US, how far inland would it travel. What are the sea levels of the affected areas..I was thinking it would help me determine how big the surge was. For instance how far up the mississippi would be equivalent.

My family is moving to New Orleans next winter. Which is the best city/town to move in.

Open Question: Is there anyway to find out if the job I have now is Legit??

I have been working for a company for a few months now, My boyfriends mom knew the guy who owns it so we got hired on the spot. Now im starting to question weather he is a legit company, We filled out Applications and tax forms but I have not gotten a check (we were just getting paid in cash about 100 between the both of us a week) We clean apartments that complex's need to rent out, Everytime we ask our "boss" when we are getting paid he says whenever these people start sending me my checks for the apartments.

He says that we came up here form New Orleans when Katrina hit but I just dont know, sounds a little typical

Anyway that I can find out if he really is a legit buisness or not...

Resolved Question: SURVEY: *When* are we allowed to get a spine and stand up to Abusive People exactly?

I'm serious here. Not trying to troll or be a jerk.

Consider the following:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080509/ap_on_re_as/myanmar_cyclone;_ylt=Ao_mLvIWN1FAKN80KN5q6r7xrGIF

So....WHEN are we allowed to get a spine here and STAND UP to the Dictators again?

Will it be BEFORE or AFTER the thugs in the jackboots are in our backyards, *all over*? Serious, this is bad. First people let a whole *city* starve and rot (New Orleans, Louisiana, United States), and now it's a whole *small nation* (BURMA...because this should demonstrate *amply* that the current regime is NOT legitimate at all). When does it end?

When are we going to STOP appeasing the Dictators of this world, in China, Saudi Arabia, Iran and BURMA? Will it be before or *well after* the thugs show up in our backyards *all over the place*?

Are we really so passive and *Stupid* that we will all wait until it's too late? Just asking, and please pardon the Anger here. This denial of simple aid is WRONG, utterly.
My apologies for the *repeated* Question, it happened because of Yahoo!'s damned "Breathers", a.k.a. unjustified *load errors*. I had *no* intention, at my end, of asking the same thing twice here, sorry....
The deal with asterisks...? *lol* Ok...I get this. ^_^ It's about trying to find a reliable way to emphasize things. ALL CAPS is just too obnoxious, and underlining doesn't work unless you want to play with HTML all day and have Yahoo! itself get nasty with you.

And....this isn't *about* going after a "Saddam Hussein" type because there's a family fued going on and we *can*, ok? Nor is this about distracting people from the *real* jerks in Saudi and Dubai who WERE, clearly, behind 9-11 (no Iraqis on board, hello?).

This is about keeping folks from *starving and DYING* because the regime THEY didn't ask for is denying them food. It's a bit more basic than what Hussein was doing to (non-Kurd) Iraqis. Not to mention, there just is *no* way you can justify what the regime in Burma is doing. None at all....this isn't even remotely or conceivably political. This is just about a military junta being *cruel*. It's different, deal with it willya?

which city is the best city of the 2? In my opinion, New Orleans 'cause its a nice southern city. the last time, I visited New York City was in 1977. let the debate, begin.
In 1977, went inside the Statue of Liberty, all the way to the Crown. WHAT A VIEW!! People look like ants, the boats look like toys. Did not ride the subway, it was considered 'risky'.

Resolved Question: I'm a huge Hornets fan (New Orleans native), and after games 1 &2?

I was convinced that they'd win this series with no problem, and even thought I expected San Antonio to win game three in their house, I forgot how Paje has historically dissappeared in road games, like he did last night (21 in game 1, 25 in game 2 and under 10 last night).

Will the Hornets still win the series, with paje being a no show in away games (I know they still have the home advantage, but anything can happen in a game 7)

Resolved Question: REALLY early Pre-Season NFL Power Rankings..im Bored?

1. Patriots
2. Colts
3. NY Giants
4. Dallas
5. San Diego
6. Jacksonville
7. New Orleans
8. Seattle
9. Pittsburgh
10. Green Bay
11. Cleveland
12. Philadelphia
13. Chicago
14. Tampa Bay
15. Baltimore
16. Carolina
17. Tennessee
18. Arizona
19. Washington
20. Denver
21. Minnesota
22. Detroit
23. Houston
24. NY Jets
25. Buffalo
26. Kansas City
27. Cincinatti
28. Atlanta
29. St. Louis
30. Niners
31. Oakland
32. Miami

Cause THATS how i roll, lol.
I could have put the Giants 1.. Because theyre the Defending Champions, but i didnt, because i think NE and Colts are Better...but i dont Think Dallas is, Simply because Offensively, Dallas is Better than NY, but the Giants Can Score with anyone, and its close enough...but Defensively, ITS NOT EVEN CLOSE!, the Giants are Better. so, Huge Edge for Giants on Defense, slight Edge For Dallas on Offense Equals Giants ahead of Dallas... Simple :-)
And The Saints.... Too Much talent, Too Good a Coach, Last year was a fluke. theyll be REAL good.

San Diego is always a disappointment. The Giants Beat New England.. They would have Beaten the Chargers, so they get ranked Ahead of them too
BIG TIM...

the Fact you Mentioned the JETS and Cleveland with Green Bay, excuses me from any argument i would have mounted against you.. THE JETS!????? LOL LOL,, The JETS!!!??

And Can Cleveland Actually DO IT before we say they belong in the elite.
Miss "with and i e"...

Dont Hate!! lol I know deep down inside yer a closet GGGGGGGGG-Men fan....... Yer just hiding it well because you live somewhere surrounded by Cowgirls fans :-)
Tim...

The Jets Must Love Thomas Jones since they Were Looking at the Arkansas RB so long.... The Jets Ofensive line SHOULD be Better, But i Dont Think Pittsburgh Lets go of a Lineman Like Faneca unles they saw sumthing They Did not Like, NOONE lets go of a Premiere O-lineman, NOONE! The Pass Rusher from Carolina was AMAZING 2-3 years ago, but He was INVISIBLE in Recent Seasons and If you think his Weight issues are going away playing for a NY team, then you are simply being a Homer.. and Then yes, Throw in The Pop gun QB... and The Fact you have ZERO threats on Offense Passing... Its not that i think the Jets are Bad, but ESUS CHRIST, you need to Take the Chrebet Jersey off and REALLY look at your team

Resolved Question: Is the Burma Dictatorship's Refusal of Aid Similar to the Bush Regime's Refusal to Accept Aid for Katrina?

When Hurricane Katrina ripped through the southern United States in August 2005, the authorities were overwhelmed and the governor of Louisiana, Kathleen Babineaux Blanco, appealed to the international community for emergency medical aid. The Cuban government immediately offered assistance to New Orleans and to the states of Mississippi and Alabama, also affected by the storm, and promised that within 48 hours 1,600 doctors, trained to deal with such catastrophes, would arrive with all the necessary equipment plus 36 tonnes of medical supplies. This offer, and another made directly to President George Bush, went unanswered. In the catastrophe at least 1,800 people, most of them poor, died for lack of aid and treatment.
Array

Open Question: What's The Best Thing(s) The Internet Has Done For You?

The best things its done for me is get me in touch with all my old friends from elementary & middle school & most of all, during Katrina evacuation, I found my freakin next door neighbor on New Orleans' biggest website enabling us to get a ride from Baton Rouge to our family in Texas. There were so many people on there at that time, it's nearly a miracle. The internet also helped me find out how everyone is doing and let them know how I was after the storm.
Baby Missy if you're gonna troll at least put some variety in it.

Resolved Question: To all - especially Bible scoffers: 4 remarks & questions asking: What do you believe?

1-You believe that we can put people into space for MONTHS , where the atmosphere PROHIBITS HUMAN LIFE and not enough oxygen to support life (EXCEPT by MAN MADE means) but you can't believe that, what Christians know to be an all powerful GOD, can sustain a man in a whale for three DAYS?
2. You have seen and believe, that hurricane Katrina can devastate & flood New Orleans in a matter of HOURS and the recent cyclone in Mynmar can cause disaster and the death of tens of thousands in a matter of HOURS-but you can't believe that most life & land can be almost destroyed when God causes it to rain for 40 DAYS?
3-You have talked to electronic voices on the phone, computers, etc..You have heard recorded voices & music, but you can't believe in God speaking via a bush?
4. Some believe in evolution -originating from nothing but some matter, that came from nowhere, for no reason, and this matter & solids became alive-but you can't believe in intelligent design-all powerful God creation?
